LENSING BAGS

Applying the same knowledge that has made the SEA System
a world leader in the aquaculture industry, Future SEA has produced an
extension of its product line to be used in lensing applications. This
lensing bag will eliminate several inefficiencies that are relevant with
other lensing systems. Most notably is the efficient use of the freshwater.
Unlike tarped lensing systems where up to 1/3 of the freshwater is not
available to the fish due to being lost between the net and the tarp,
The Future SEA Lensing Bag allows for 100% of the freshwater to be available
to the fish. Other advantages are as follows:

APPLICATIONS:
- Freshwater Lensing for Fry Growout -
Ideally suited for marine milieu with freshwater
availability, the lensing bag is a cost effective and proven technology
to expand your fry/smolt production capacity. Salmon fry as small
as 2.5 grams can be introduced into lensing bags for rearing to the
desired size, thereby freeing up rearing space that would otherwise
be occupied by larger fingerlings at the hatchery. This system increases
the economic efficiency and production turnover rate of your land-based
facility. The lensing bag also provides and efficient use of valuable
resources (freshwater, heat & oxygen). The end result is cheaper,
healthier and bigger smolts.
- Broodstock Holding Bags with Salinity Control -
Salmon naturally spawn in freshwater. Salinity control with broodstock
is an important management tool to optimize the quality and viability
of eggs and milt. However, the transportation of live broodstock to
a hatchery or freshwater site is expensive, stressful on the fish,
and does represent a significant biosecurity risk. The lensing bag
is a cost-effective solution that can be configured to provide the
benefits attributed to freshwater spawning.
